Motherhood 1981

I was happy to accept a commission from a friend of my daughter who I consider one of my “extra” kids. His idea was for me to paint from a picture taken of him and his mom back in 1981 when he was just a baby.

Having a baby that was born that same year made it extra special to work on this piece and try to capture the feeling of new motherhood, along with the mood of the early 80’s.

I can’t wait for her to see the painting. I hope it brings her some of the same warm feelings it brought me.
