Redefined Gothic

The original version of this painting was done as a monochrome. When the commission fell through, I decided to approach the piece again with playfulness in mind. I have been experimenting with using only bright colors to create portraits, and this became another experiment. I like the warmth and playfulness in this piece, and I find it way more interesting than the original.
