Oleta Aglow

Oleta Adams, the daughter of a preacher, was raised on gospel music. She struggled to gain traction in Los Angeles before relocating to Kansas City, where she released two self-financed albums.  In 1985, she was discovered while performing at a Kansas City club by members of Tears for Fears, who later invited her to collaborate on The Seeds of Love and join them as a singer and pianist.
