The Gift Of Her Song

Wrapped up in a ribbon, like the gift her talent was to the world, Aretha honored our first Black President with her song. Created for the  Women Who Walked On Water concert in 2022 this piece was one of the first times I experimented with my limited color palette and I really love the effect on her.

Interestingly, that hat became iconic in it’s own right and was one of the first viral memes that flooded the internet at the time of the inauguration.
