Young Boy in Chinatown

This drawing is the third one I’ve created based off photographs taken by Arnold Genthe around 1896.  5

I am always intrigued by the expressions of children, and I love an ornery kid, especially if I don’t have to raise them. I’m not sure what was going through this young man’s mind, but I love the slight scowl on his face. Some things never change.
