Pamela Turner was an unarmed woman who was shot and killed by a police officer on May 13, 2019. The shooting occurred while the officer was attempting to arrest Turner for outstanding warrants at her apartment complex. A bystander captured the incident on video, which showed Turner lying on the ground and Delacruz shooting her eight times. Neighbors later stated that the officer was well aware of Ms. Turner’s mental health issues.
