Description of The Bomber

Joe Louis, a professional boxer in the 1930’s and 1940’s, had the longest single reign as champion of any boxer in history. He stares out of all the old photographs with dignity combined with pugnaciousness.

So when a friend asked me if I ever did small portrait paintings, this old photograph, (I was unable to find the name of the photographer) felt like the perfect place to try painting small.
