Waiting to Become

As I worked on this piece, based on a photo from 1904, I kept wondering about this little boy. Who did he become? Did he grow up to fight in WWI? WWII? Did he survive? If he did, what did he come home to? Did he raise a family and live to see old age? Or was his life cut short despite all the potential I see in his sweet face?
I don’t know the answer to those questions, but I hope his life was long and happy.
